Greetings! It is almost the end of the year 2010 and I cannot help but look back at what an extraordinary year this has been for South Africa! Not only did we host the World Cup, but, our prayers were answered because we hosted a near-perfect event that will stay in our hearts and minds for always.

These did it for all that were witnessing:

• The entertainment.
• The vibe.
• The excitement.

All these were very visible and tangible, and the majority of South Africans wished it would never end… There are many lessons that I took away from this year’s World Cup, one of them being that preparation is the key to success. There are no shortcuts – only hard work and loads of planning.

The other important lesson for me is that you can only be victorious, if your work together for one common goal.
